It seems that is a savoury cake week…
Pears, strong cheese and walnuts. What could go wrong?
- 125gr. Blue Cheese (I used St. Flour Bleu D’Auvergne)
- 100gr. White Cheddar.
- 1 Pear.
- 60gr. Walnuts.
- 175gr. Plain Flour.
- 3 Eggs.
- 2 Tea spoons Baking Powder.
- 6 Table spoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
- 100ml. Whole Milk.
- 1 Tea spoon Salt.
Put the flour in a bowl and mix with the baking powder and salt. Add the pear, chopped in cubes, and the walnuts.
Pre heat the oven at 175 degrees.
In another bowl, put the eggs, milk and olive oil. Whisk for a minute. Add the blue and cheddar cheese, chopped in small pieces. Mix. Add the flour and mix all ingredients.
Put the mixture in a loaf baking tin previously spread with some butter and flour.
Place it in the oven for approx. 45 minutes. Let it cool down and serve it in slices or cubes as starter.
