This is a very easy, and good looking, cake. It doesn’t have too much sugar and, even with the Nutella, doesn’t taste very sweet.
Ideal to dip it in a hot chocolate.
Ingredients
- 250gr. Plain Flour.
- 130gr. White Sugar.
- 5 eggs.
- 100gr. Butter.
- 125gr. Nutella.
- 16gr. Baking Powder.
- A pinch of Salt.
Preparation
Separate 4 egg whites and reserve in a bowl.
Put the 4 egg yolk in a bowl with the sugar. Whisk for 5 minutes. Add the other egg, the soft butter and the flour mixed with the baking powder. Mix well using a spatula.
Divide the dough in two bowls.
Heat the Nutella in the microwave for 30 seconds. Add it to one of the bowls and mix well.
Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees.
Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they form hard peaks. Divide in two and add to the bowls with the dough. Mix with a spatula until all ingredients are integrated.
Spread some butter in a square cake tin. Sprinkle some flour. Start adding the dough, alternating between the Nutella and the plain one. Finally make a zigzag movement with a stick on the dough.
Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let it cool down and dip it in your coffee!
Anything with nutella in it is delicious by me.
Completely agree!
Donβt like Nutella, but this cake looks so good .. that I may give it a try one day. Looks so good, so it goes on file this too.
Thanks! You can try with Cocoa powder instead…
Thanks, but not found of coco in cakes, I rather eat chocolate. Will try it with Nutella.
A good looking cake indeed – delicious.

Insanely delish, this looks! My mouth is watering as I write this!
Josh here from the BlinkPack blog. This cake looks like a slice of heaven. I wish you all the best with your blogging. Cheers!
My only question is how long does an open jar of Nutella last? I have one in my cupboard (finding it too sweet for toast in the a.m.) and would be thrilled to be able to use it up in this delicious-looking cake! Thanks also for the ‘Like’ for my Cornbread recipe and visit to Savvy SIngle Suppers!
Thanks! Not sure, usually Nutella last for a long time. Try it and if it tastes good, use it in the cake.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I made a nutella loaf once! I had a hard time baking it all the way through ( I kept leaving it a little longer and a little longer but it STILL had a gooey part in the middle) sigh… but it was delicious anyway! Your cake looks good.
A pleasure. I am not great at baking but the recipes I posted they usually work well, hopefully this one will work for you.
Looks like the perfect cake to make for World Nutella Day, which just happens to be this upcoming Monday!
Interesting! I will make sure I have Nutella in some way next Monday!
